Memorial Democràtic is a public institution supported by the government of Catalonia. The main goal of the institution is the recovery of historical memory connected with the fight for democracy in Catalonia and Spain between 1931 and 1980, with a special focus on the Spanish Civil War and its consequences.
Institution has created the biggest oral history archive online in Spain, by developing a new methodology and a platform to manage and spread that kind of documents. We're actually applying the same methods with all our collections of documents and databases, focused on the victims and disappeared people of the Spanish Civil War, exiled people, and political prisoners and executed during Franco's dictatorship. What it's relevant is the way we manage it by using controlled vocabularies and applying museology methods to spread that content.
